Consultation
The first step to better understanding your circumstances is an in-depth consultation. This can last for a few meetings or remain open-ended. I also collaborate with colleagues who can provide couples treatment, psychopharmacology treatment, group work, and health/nutrition consultations.
Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis
Psychotherapy involves meeting once or twice per week and focuses on symptoms that are less pervasive or more specific in nature. This includes loss, intermittent depression or anxiety, life transitions, relationship and work difficulties, and some addictions and body issues.
Psychoanalysis requires a greater commitment in that we meet several times per week. It is most effective for long-standing and pervasive difficulties. Some common examples include repeatedly engaging in unsatisfying relationships, being unable to reach your potential, experiencing pervasive feelings of emptiness, anxiety or depression, or feeling that you are an imposter. This more intensive approach offers the possibility of lasting changes in self-esteem and patterns of relating to others.
